Santa Cruz County voters have made it clear on several occasions that they support public ownership of the coastal rail line for the purpose of a rail trail and passenger rail service.
Voter approval of Prop 116 in Santa Cruz County showed we were willing to pay for public ownership, ultimately banking approximately $11million in local tax dollars since 1990.
